Leo's Ladies was formed at the start of the 1996 rugby season, at the Old Leodiensian Rugby Club in Leeds. It evolved from Otley Ladies Rugby Union, and began in Division 4 North East. Following success in the 2001/2002 season, Leo's was promoted to Division 1 North for the 2002/2003 season, where they finished 3rd in the league. Another excellent season followed in 2003/2004, in which Leo's achieved promotion to Premiership 2 for 2005/2006. The 1st XV then finished an amazing second in this new league in 2005/2006, just one point behind Blaydon. The new Leo's 2nd XV won Division 3 North East in 2005/2006 and achieved promotion to Division 2 North for the 2006/2007 season.

In 2007/08 the RFUW re-designed the league structures, with the result that the 1st XV will play in the new Championship North 1, and the 2nd XV will play in National Challenge North 1. New players are VERY welcome, any age / size / fitness! Training is at 7pm on Thursdays. Contact Kirsty on 07940 008 373 for details. Players travel from all over Yorkshire (e.g. Hull, Scunthorpe, Harrogate, York) so we may be able to arrange a lift to the club for you.

Leo's Ladies host a very active social side, and social membership for non-players is encouraged. Aside from the usual social side of any rugby club, the ladies host race nights, clay-pigeon shoots, dinners etc. The club also go paintballing, ten pin bowling and have an annual tour each year. In addition, the club is keen to promote rugby for girls, and holds "taster" days, with qualified coaching, for under 17's.
