Leo's Ladies was formed at the start of the 1996 rugby season, at the Old Leodiensian Rugby Club in Leeds. It evolved from Otley Ladies Rugby Union, and began in Division 4 North East. After an excellent season in 2003/2004, Leo's achieved promotion to Premiership 2. The 1st XV then finished an amazing second in 2005/2006, just one point behind Blaydon. The new Leo's 2nd XV won Division 3 North East in 2005/2006 and achieved promotion to Division 2 North. At present we have about 60 players registered but new players are always welcome, any age / size / fitness! Training is at 7pm on Thursdays. Contact Teach on 07940 008 373 for details. Players travel from such exotic locations as Halifax, Harrogate and Bradford so we might be able to arrange lifts to the club. Leo's Ladies host a very active social side, and social membership for non-players is encouraged – a bargain at £15 a season! Aside from the usual social side of rugby, the ladies have two annual dinners, a Christmas party and a tour. Several members organise other sports like wake boarding and of course, there’s more fancy dress and karaoke than you can shake a stick at!! Training: Thursday 7.00pm Matches: Sunday 2.30pm Crag Lane, Off King Lane, Alwoodley, Leeds LS17 5PR |
